I'm a Pig!

What kind of animal are you according to the Chinese Animal Zodiac?
It says I'm a pig.

fun quiz for myspace profile and blog

Not exactly the sexiest of the twelve animals, but I guess it's okay.

Occupying the 12th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Pig symbolizes the character traits of diligence, compassion, and generosity. Pigs enjoy life and because they are entertaining, others enjoy their company. Pigs are giving souls and reap much enjoyment when they’re helping others, but sometimes they give too much. Honesty is what Pigs give and it’s what they expect to receive in return.

*I can agree with most of this.*

Pigs seek peace and will do what is necessary to maintain it. This trait, while admirable, sometimes makes it easy for others to take advantage of Pigs. Pigs are always doing for others, helping anyway they can, but rarely will they ask others for help. This can overwhelm and stress them, but Pigs don’t mind.

*I don't like being stressed, but I do like peace.*

When it comes to money, Pigs enjoy spending more than saving. They gravitate towards name brand items. Thriftiness happens only occasionally, but Pigs do know how to find great deals.

*Wrong. I don't like spending too much money. I want to know I can pay the bills comfortably without going into more debt. I could care less about name brands and would rather buy two knockoffs with the money I'd save. I tend to be thrifty and love finding great deals.*

Health

Always seeking fun, Pigs often indulge more than they should. Excessive eating, drinking and smoking can cause sickness. Pigs aren’t very active and, combined with their excessive behaviors, cause them to gain weight. Pigs are social and being alone makes them unhappy. Pigs would benefit from adopting a healthier lifestyle.

*Wrong again. I watch what I eat, exercise on a regular basis, and can wear the same size jeans I did before having 4 kids. Hmm...going downhill fast on this comparison.*

Career

Pigs enjoy helping at work and can always be counted on. They enjoy opportunities that allow them to express their creativity. Pigs are detail-oriented, a trait admired by management. Pigs aren’t afraid to take on responsibility. Some good career choices for Pigs include: entertainer, caterer, doctor, veterinarian, or interior decorator. They’d do well in retail or hospitality.

*Mostly correct. I don't like sales so retail would be out, but, I am a nurse and like helping people. I'm creative and tend to jump in new projects with both feet. I am very detail-oriented, almost to being obessive compulsive, and would probably have made a great lawyer.*

Relationships

Supportive and giving, Pigs make great partners. They’re affectionate and sexual and prefer staying home to going out. They enjoy what they have, especially their home and family. Once they find the right partner, they’re typically committed for the long-term.

*Yep! Nailed it dead on. I will give as long as I'm getting back equally. Screw me over one too many times, and I'm gone. Life is too short to accept less than I deserve. Luckily, I've found prince charming.*

Pigs and the 5 elements

Metal Pigs – Years 1911 and 1971

Metal Pigs have a tough exterior, and this strength can be seen in all areas of life. They work diligently and love with all they have. They’re outspoken and trust others right away.

*I was born in 1971. This is pretty accurate. My exterior has gotten tougher as I've grown up. Getting your feelings hurt a few times tends to toughen anyone up. As for trust, I guess I do trust quickly, sometimes too quickly. Which is probably why when someone lets me down, it's pretty devastating. But I also forgive and give second chances. One thing my dad taught me during a very difficult time of my life is that you only live once so you better make it count. He also instilled a good motto: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.*

My hubby is a Tiger. His was kinda hit and miss, too. I doubt any of them are dead on for anyone. But they are kind of interesting.

Find out what animal you are.

I'd love to hear about it.

Hey Shannon. Welcome to the Pig Sty--I'm a pig too. Maybe it sounds better to say I'm a bore but then it sounds like I put people to sleep. LOL Very interesting and informative blog.

Thanks, Sarah. I think I'll stick with pig. I don't want to be a bore, LOL! Hey, maybe being a pig gives me an excuse to eat lots of chocolate and ice cream! Ha ha.

looks like I'm a pig too. Not sure how I feel about that. How come most of the Chinese animals are something you'd never want to actually be, pig, rat, monkey, cock...what about panda, or leopard. I'd rather be one of those.

Really. Why can't we be a sexy black panther? Hmm...maybe we need to come up with our own Animal Calendar.

I'm also a Pig. I agree with some of your statements on "Pig" characteristics.
I don't like spending too much and save. Married 40 years...so long term relationship! And, I love food...so eat too much!
Interesting topic!
