“Accept it Tori.” Bane spoke softly. “I hear your thoughts. If you weren’t my true mate, I wouldn’t be able to hear what you’re thinking.”

“You’re my Fire Mate.” He seemed to growl as he entwined his fingers in her hair. She barely winced as he fisted a large amount and jerked her head backwards, baring his neck to him.

“I’m confused. I—don’t understand!”

Releasing her hair, he lifted her into his arms and carried her over to the couch. “No need to understand, he spoke huskily. “Feel!” He tossed her onto the sofa and began stripping the clothes from his body.

He reached for her, almost ripping the silk robe off her. Something seemed to push the air from her lungs as she fought to breath. Realizing she was naked as a jaybird, she covered her stomach.

“Oh no you don’t!” Bane snarled. “You need to be restrained,” he suggested in an animalistic voice. “Don’t you ever hide your body from me!”

Before she realized it, a silk sash appeared, tying her hands together. An invisible force soon had her arms above her head. Did she want to stop him? She didn’t recognize her voice as her own.

He gazed at her naked body as he explored her curves. While he explored her thighs, she shuddered. She tried sucking her stomach in when his hand glided over her tummy bulge.

“Don’t do that,” he growled against her ear. He continued the seductive exploration of her body. “By the Dragon gods, you’re so beautiful.

She was shocked. Her body didn’t turn him off? She looked into his eyes, but all she saw was his desire heightening. He lingered at the faint stretch marks. He stroked the areas lovingly, nuzzling against her flesh. She hated her stretch marks, but obviously the man worshipped her body.

Tori’s hips lifted off the couch as he kissed and licked her rounded belly. Pleasure shot through her entire body. “Bane.” She crooned. She watched as her boss continued working his way down her body. She gasped when he reached her spot. Tori almost leapt off the sofa. “Bane!” She heard him growl. Immediately, three words came to mind. Sexy. Hot. Inhuman.

Miranda and Honor believe the Chevalier is a crook and ask their neighbors Dieter Heiliger and his grandson Corey, to act as chaperones. With three beautiful, strong-willed women in a house filled with three handsome, virile men, the inevitable result is an intricate web of jealousy, sex, and intrigue. Who will end up with whom, and will the Three Sisters take another life as the legend calls for?

Triptych ~ Legend, history and romance intertwine in a triptych of suspense above the mighty Potomac.

Excerpt (R):

He kneeled before her, took her hands, and slowly lifted her as he rose. Gently he wrapped her face in his palms and brought his lips close, closer to her heart-shaped mouth. She stood, not wanting to move or breathe, waiting. He barely grazed her lips with his, and stepped back. “Thank you.” She opened her eyes.  He stood quietly, his expression both ardent and patient. A little voice sang in her ear. “Go for it.”  She leaned forward, put her arms around his neck and drew him to her. Her lips smashed against his with all the pent-up desire she’d been pretending didn’t exist. He opened his mouth and parted her teeth, his tongue probing, licking, teasing. Their bodies touched and pressed against each other and they hung on, swaying. Miranda felt wave on wave of an intense emotion that had to be passion pass through her. The tide did not ebb. With sudden determination he lifted her and carried her to the bed. “Miranda, I’ve wanted this since I first saw you. Tell me you felt the same.”Oh, God yes. “No. No, Luc, we can’t. No.” He stopped unbuttoning her blouse. “Why not? Tell me.” His voice came thickly.

“Because…oh, Luc, it’s not right. I don’t know. I don’t tr—” He stopped the words with another kiss. This time it went deeper still, the streams of desire spreading through her lymph nodes. Her hands and feet tingled and her vulva melted. She let him take off the blouse. Her nipples peeped above the blue lace bra. With his tongue he nudged them out of hiding and fastened on one. Miranda writhed with the pleasure of it, knowing she shouldn’t allow it. But Luc had left the nipple and was trailing kisses down her belly. Strong hands pulled the skirt down to reveal her blue silk bikini. Before she could say a word he tore them off. With his hands he spread the vaginal lips and began to lick the folds, sucking up her juices. “Oh, my God, Luc, no.”

He stopped. “No?”

“I…uh…” She looked him full in the face. His black eyes flashed, his tousled hair fell across his brow. Her body let go.

Somehow he knew she had given in. He unbuttoned his jeans and let them drop. She ripped open the rose-colored oxford shirt he’d been wearing and spattered kisses on his chest. He pushed her down on the bed and rose above her. “Miranda.” Then he plunged into her.

So this is what making love feels like. With Edward it had been only sex. This, this is love. She went to meet him. And they rested.

Miranda’s body felt like a feather bed, like a warm bath, like the eye of the storm. She didn’t think she’d ever been so relaxed or so sure the world was a wonderful place. She gazed at her lover. “Luc?”

He opened one eye.

“Er…”

“Yes, mon chou?”

A tiny click. She looked toward the door. “Oh my God, Luc, we left it open! Someone heard us.”

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
1.  Please list the link to your website and books with purchase links.
2.  How long have you been writing? What got you in to writing?
I’ve been writing since high school. I’ve always been really creative and writing is a fairly cheap creative outlet as far as materials go. It was also something I could do to pass time sitting in class after I got my work done that looked like I was still doing class work and kept the teachers off my back. When I started doing tech support years ago it was again something I could do when I had down time that made it look like I was working on something. Eventually I got to the point that I realized that my little works that helped pass time were good enough to get out into the world and share with others.

3.  What was your first published book? Looking back, is there anything you’d change about it?
The first book that got published was “Perfect Love” I recently finished doing a reedit of it since there were a lot of errors in the first edition. Would I change anything about it now? No, I think it’s a pretty good story.

4.  What or Who has influenced your writing?
Life influences my stories more than anything. I had a lot of people early on giving me lots of encouragement and actually still have most of them around helping me out.

5.  Where do you get your ideas?
The people around me and life in general. I have a great cast of characters in my life and have the whole time I’ve been on the planet. They provide endless fodder for my stories, sometimes without even meaning to. The strange comments people drop, and my friends drop lots of strange comments, can suddenly become story ideas. The odd sci/fi comedy horror book I work on in-between other things right now is a good example of an odd comment that took off on its own steam. The book is tentatively called “Tales from the Scary Queen.”

6.  What hinders your writing? (distractions? noise?)
When I’m on a roll not much hinders me. When I worked corporate jobs, I’d write between phone calls and during lunch, so my ability to pick things up after disruptions is good. Last year I finally got a laptop. We live an hour outside Colorado Springs and two from Denver. Most of the time when we both have to go down for something, I let my partner drive and I take the laptop and write in the car. I’m a touch typist, but can’t read too much that I’ve written without getting car sick, but can still crank out about a thousand words an hour or more, in the car. Deer walking past my window on a pretty day, that distracts me until I take pictures.

7.  What genre are you most comfortable with? What would you like to explore?
I do a lot of urban fantasy. That’s what I enjoy reading and what I write well. My first short story sale was a western horror piece. That combined with living in the mountains has inspired some western ideas that I’m going to explore soon.

8.  Are you a by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of writer, or do you have to use an outline to put your collective thoughts into some semblance of common sense?
That all depends on what I’m writing. Mysteries have to be plotted out so you don’t miss important details. Action/adventures and romances I just turn the characters loose and see what happens. I much prefer the free form, by-the-seat-of-your-pants writing.

9.  Which of your books is your favorite? Why?
I love my Yellow Sky books. Last year I decided to make some changes to the main character Tal O’Duirwood, he’s half dragon, and he really came alive for me in a way most of my other characters haven’t. There is so much to explore in his character now. I just can’t wait to share more of his adventures with the world.

10. Do you incorporate some of yourself into your characters? Personality traits? Likes? Dislikes?
It’s hard not to. Most of my characters drive cars I like. Some of them have hobbies or professions that I find interesting. When possible, I make them look like folks I like to look at. Most of the big ones have belief systems that I follow, not necessarily religious, but their concepts of right and wrong.

11. What do you think is the perfect hero/heroine? Why?
I think a good hero/heroine needs to be strong, and inspire the readers. Too often today we have people around us either in our lives, in print, in the movies ect., that don’t inspire us to better ourselves. A good character will do that, they will make the reader want more. It was said of James Bond, that men wanted to be him and women wanted to be with him. That is a good hero.

12. What is your latest release? Please share the blurb and purchase info with us.
The latest release as off the first of April is “Perfect Trouble”
Blurb:
When Connor Wildman opens a portal to another world in his closet, Ethan Samuel Peters is called in to find the young man. With his trusty werewolf partner, Dusty, at his side, Ethan enters the portal and finds himself in the realm of Fairie. The realm beyond the portal is in chaos due to Connor’s unauthorized visit. Ethan must fight his way through angry elves and emboldened trolls to reunite Connor with his family, while trying to stop the Fairie Queen from declaring war on Earth. Meanwhile, can Ethan’s assistant Tiffany find the person responsible for the theft of sacred objects all over Dallas? The second book in the E.S. Peters investigations series brings even more action than the first and delves deeper into an elegant cast of characters.

13. What do you have in the works?
I’ve got several things going right now. Hard at work editing the second Yellow Sky novel, that we’re still trying to figure out a tile for. Getting final edits done for a high fantasy parody entitled “Dr. Gnome” and gearing up for the third of the E.S. Peters books entitled “Perfect Aim”

14. Do you have any suggestions/comments for prospective authors?
I love talking with new authors. The first advice I have is to write. Don’t talk about it, don’t dream about it, do it. As long as you’re writing, then you’re a writer. Join a critique group. There should be one nearby you or there are several online. A good critique group will help you grow as a writer more than anything else. They might make you cry after then dissect your finally-crafted work, but that pain will make it better. The odds are your first editor is going to be a lot harder on you than a critique group, but you’ll go far. We are at a pinnacle of major changes in the publishing world. It’s an awesome time to be a writer if you’re willing to work for it.

JUST FOR FUN:
1. If you could be an animal, what would it be? Why?
An eagle. They are awesome creatures with vast territories. There are apex predators that just happen to be completely gorgeous.

2. If you had super powers, what would they be? Why?
Weather control. Hey, Storm is wonderful. She’s at one with the world around her, and she can fly.

3. Is there anywhere you’d like to visit? Why?
I’d love to go to Stonehenge. It’s such an incredible place with so much history. Besides at some point Tal will have to go there in a story and I should go there first to get it right, completely good excuse for a vacation.

Author Name: A.M. Burns

Book Title: Perfect Trouble

Genre: Urban Fantasy/gay

Publisher: Mystichawker Press

Format: Ebook, paperback

Excerpt: PG

A sleek furry form flew out of the water and landed hard on the bank not far from me. It was longer and shorter than a werewolf. He got up, shook himself violently spraying water and sand in all directions. He looked at me, smiled and loped back into the water. There were rumors that a romp of wereotters had taken up shop in South Dallas, but this was the first time I’d seen one. It made me feel a little better knowing that Dusty had some help with the kraken.

I went back to the circle in the sand. The outer symbols were drawn out as Dusty and three wereotters hoisted the kraken up out of the river and carried him toward me.

Now to say that a kraken is ugly is like saying that Hugh Jackman is attractive. It’s a gross understatement. The creature was foul. At first it smelled like a river full of rotten fish. Then I realized that the odor was just the river water running off its scaly hide. Odd protuberances, almost like small tentacles, coved its body. It’s long tail drug the ground, even though Dusty and the otters had it hoisted on their massive shoulders. A rusty chain that one of them had found and used to bind the OD also drug along behind them.

I stepped aside as they carried the kraken into the circle. I quickly redrew the line that the tail and chain smudged. Then I finished the inner circle that would bind the kraken until I finished the banishing spell to send it back to the watery dimension that spawned it.

Dusty gave the OD a hard fist to the head and it slumped to the ground inside the inner circle. He made sure that neither the rusty chain nor any of the kraken’s appendages crossed the lines of the circle.

Once I was sure that the inner circle was complete and should hold the kraken, I turned back to Dusty and wereotters, who had all returned to their human forms. I could only assume that the otters were brothers. I’d go so far as to say that they were probably triplets. They were tall and lean, standing at least six foot four with shoulder-length golden blond hair and strange blue eyes. Unlike Dusty who’d returned to his human form fully clothed, the otters stood there on the sand in their full Nordic glory. Their broad chests and washboard abs were lightly dusted with short blond hairs, leading down to impressive packages. I must say, back a couple of years ago before I met Dusty, I would’ve been tempted to take on the three of them if they were interested.
Dusty was explaining to them that if they stayed in the circle, they’d need to be quiet and make sure not to break it. Two identical heads shook and two of the young men shifted back to their otter forms and raced back toward the river.

An Interview with Lila Munro

Please join me in welcoming Lila Munro as she shares with us a little about her writing, what she'd like to change about the world, and what her superpowers are.

Be sure to check out the sexy hot excerpt from her book Assumed Identity after the interview.

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS:
1) Links to website and list of books with purchase links.

I can be found at my blog. I love to have guests, too.  My back list is growing all the time, but it and my purchase links can be found there for your perusal.

2) What was your first published book? Looking back, is there anything you’d change about it?

My first published work was The Executive Officer’s Wife—and yes, there was plenty that needed changed and in fact I did. After a year I was reverted the rights and it took a thorough scrubbing with a new editor and is now out in second edition and doing much better now.

3) Where do you get your ideas?

I get ideas from everywhere and everything around me. And believe me, living in a sequestered sub-culture I’ve seen and heard it all. Quiet little sub-urban style living is not the military way. I started out writing strictly military romances—you know, write what you know? But, I found myself wandering away when I first started writing the racier themes. This year my plan is to return to those roots. There are still so many stories here to tell. So much to draw from. The Executive Officer’s Wife and Bound by Trust both came from my military experiences and so far have been two of my best-selling novels. Right now I have in the works the outlining of a stand-alone, For His Country. It’s a heartfelt story about what life is like during the transition years toward the end of a Marine’s career. How do marriages last twenty or more years under the type of stress the military has to offer? This novel will address that. I also have a series almost written, The Sergeants of Echo Co. I'm looking forward to returning to my origins and sharing a bit more about my military background with my readers.

4) What hinders your writing? (distractions? noise?)

The phone. There are days I actually have to turn the ringer off or I’d never get anything done.

5) What genre are you most comfortable with? What would you like to explore?

I’m comfortable in the genres I work in now. Very little makes me uncomfortable. I’ve written straight up contemporary, ménage, BDSM, and although I am certainly not a M/M writer, I’ve written M/M scenes for the work I’m currently working on as the story dictated it. It’s always been on my list of things to try to write historical. I love, love, love historical, but it requires a lot of research to get it right and I won’t do anything unless I can give it 150%.

6) Are you a by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of writer, or do you have to use an outline to put your collective thoughts into some semblance of common sense?

I’ve sort of been like a shape-shifter in that area. I started out a strict outline everything, plotter and nothing deviated from the plan. Then things progressed and the busier I got the less I adhered to the plan. I didn’t like it there in the no plan at all land, so now I’ve sort of settled into a cross between the two. I outline and plan and get to know my characters, which helps me climb inside them, but if something crops up in the middle of the road I stop and talk to it a while before deciding whether to pick it up and throw it in the cart or keep walking. This had become a very comfortable place for me.

7) Which of your books is your favorite? Why?

My books are like my children. There are things about each that I favor, but as far as an overall favorite I don’t claim one.

8) Do you incorporate some of yourself into your characters? Personality traits? Likes? Dislikes?

I believe it’s impossible not to spill a bit of oneself into one’s characters. They are in essence an extension of me, so sure they resemble me on some level. That’s not to say this spillage is intentional, I think it just is inevitable.

9) What do you have in the works?

Currently I’m working on the sequel to Assumed Identity, Assumed Master. It’s the continuation of Julie’s story and the beginning of Dante’s. I also plan on finishing up the Slower Lower series this year with book three, A Slower Lower Leap.

10) Do you have any suggestions/comments for prospective authors?

Write what you know and listen to your editors. They are paid to know what’s right and what’s wrong. It irritates me to see people degrading editors and publishers because the writer got a rejection notice. There was a reason you got it. Figure out the reason and fix it.

JUST FOR FUN:

1) If you could be an animal, what would it be? Why?

I have said for years if I could be reincarnated as an animal I would either come back as a bird or a dog. Both for vengeful purposes. I could either poop on the heads of those that had been mean to me in this life, or pee up their leg.

2) If you had super powers, what would they be? Why?

I have a super power. I’m a military wife. This requires me to be more jills of any and all trades than you can shake a stick at.

3) If you could change three things in the world, what would they be? Why?

No child anywhere would be hungry. Children are victims of circumstance. Not one single one asks to be born into this world and they sure don’t deserve to go hungry once they are here. That people would resume personal responsibility for themselves. As a society we’ve come to be entirely too dependent on someone else, anyone else, for anything and everything. Reclaim the spirit of “I can” rather than “Will someone?” That the adoption process, nationally as well as internationally, somehow be streamlined and made easier. It’s also quite costly. There are so many kids out there that need homes and plenty of parents that would like to have them but the amount of red-tape convolutes the process to the point that thousands still sit waiting on a good home. I’m not sure how this streamlining would take place, I know safety of the children is a priority, but there just has to be an easier way to give this love.

4) What would be a perfect date for you?

At this point, since my husband has been gone for almost a year, a bologna sandwich in the back yard followed by gallons of wine and some serious—you know ;)—would suffice for perfect.

5) Is there anywhere you’d like to visit? Why?

Europe. Anywhere and everywhere. My husband’s been in port in several countries and always comes back with the most amazing pics and treats. I’d like to get a taste of those places firsthand and experience them with him.

Innocent childhood games of dress-up and pretend…

Julie Stevens is as straight as they come. Or so she tries to convince herself. But it isn’t easy believing that little white lie when she has the two most sexually eccentric best friends on the planet. One is a bi-sexual Domme who believes if it looks fun, try it. The other is a gay man in the role of slave to his very sexy Master whom Julie often wishes wasn’t gay. Dante’s commanding presence makes her want to do things that set her on fire with need and embarrassment. Given her boring vanilla life, how exactly does she fit into their world? Would they like to have a shinier third wheel?

Are a completely different animal for grownups…

After one wild evening and a bit too much liquid encouragement, Julie discovers a side of herself she’s always tried to ignore. The realization she’s a sub not only scares her, it excites her and she yearns for more. But the process of finding the right man to teach her becomes a real issue, until Mason comes along. He’s everything Julie imagines a Dom should be. Armed with her masque and Renaissance costume, Julie is thrown for a loop when the handsome Master draws more willingness out of her than she ever thought possible. Is it possible she’s more than a submissive? And will the assumptions he’s made about her identity end up tearing them apart?

Excerpt: ADULT

“Are you wet, angel?” Mason asked, running one hand down the middle of her back. Her intake of breath told him she was and that she didn’t want to admit it. “Answer me. Now.”

“Yes,” she whispered over a whimper.

Covering her body with his, Mason leaned over her and gently took her by her hair. “Tell me what you need, angel.”

Silence. Sniffling. Muffled moans.

“Julie. Tell. Me. What. You. Need.”

“Sex.” Her voice was barely audible.

“No. That’s what you think I want. I know what I want. You’re to free your mind of thoughts concerning what you think I want.” Mason pushed back up and began moving one hand over her back in a soothing pattern. “Tell me what you need.”

“I need…I…Don’t make me…”

“Say it.”
“I need to come,” she whined.

“Good girl,” he praised. “Now tell me what you want.”

“I don’t understand…”

“Yes, you do. Tell me,” he growled.

“I want you to make me come,” she gushed, arching her back into his constant touch.

“I’m going to do just that, angel,” he spoke harshly, leaning back over her and taking a handful of hair, raising her head enough he could nip her earlobe. “Tell me you understand.”

“I understand.”

“When’s the last time you had an orgasm?” She started to answer and he cut her off. “With a man?”

“I can’t remember.”

“Shame on them,” Mason told her.

He stood and while keeping one hand on her lower back letting her know he was still present, he unbuttoned his jeans then unzipped them slowly, adding to her agony by being forced to listen to the click of each tine popping open. Scooting his pants down his legs along with his boxers, he stepped out of them and when his hand left her so he could sheath himself, Julie grunted in frustration.

“Get on your back on the bed,” he said as he finished rolling the condom down. She needed the visual contact even if she couldn’t see anything but shadows and reflections.

She hesitated, looked behind her as if trying to determine if he was baiting her or not, then turned and backed across the mattress before lying down with her legs spread and her arms at her sides, her eyes tightly squeezed shut. So clinical, as if she expected to be used as a vessel. Who the hell had she been with before and what the hell had they done to her to make her think sex was about lying like a dead fish while the man got what he wanted? Then he remembered what she’d been like at the party, after he’d caught her in the chase.

She was carefree and happy, not at all a dead fish beneath him. As he’d lain on her in the garden, she was vital and eager. Mason believed she’d have done anything he asked of her she was so pliable…She’d been Hayden. Not Julie. She’d not just been dressed for the party. She was literally hiding behind her masque.

A bit of anger and sorrow wound around Mason’s state of arousal and squeezed him as he realized she had to assume an identity to feel. Then he was almost ashamed at the bit of happiness that crept in at the realization that she was not only fresh and new to his world but actually, she was like putty in his hands. She was ready to be molded into the person she was perfectly capable of being. He could be the one to show Julie how good it really could be, not just physically, but emotionally as well. For tonight though, she needed a safe haven, a place where she could turn her fears into dancing.
